Kegote Privacy Policy

1. Scope of This Policy

This policy applies to the mobile app, local project records created inside the app, and any support request you send to us about the app. It does not cover third-party services that you choose to use outside the app.

2. Information You Provide

You may choose to import images from your Photos library or Files app, and you may enter project details such as recipient, channel, notes, and a project name. When you export a watermarked copy, the app may also create a local watermark ID and record the export time for that project.

When you scan an image, the app processes the image you import for that scan and may store the scan result locally so you can review the match, source record, export time, and confidence level later.

3. Automatically Collected Information

The app may receive basic device and app information needed to keep the app working, such as operating system version, app version, crash reports, and diagnostic data if your device or platform makes that information available. If you use in-app purchases, the App Store and Apple may also process purchase and receipt information under their own terms and privacy practices.

4. How We Use Information

We use the information you provide and the local project data the app creates to embed invisible watermark data into images, identify the project behind a scan, show provenance details, manage local history, improve reliability, and respond to support questions.

We also use limited information to process purchases, restore entitlements where the platform allows, and maintain the app’s basic security and performance.

5. Local Storage, Sharing, and Third Parties

By default, your images and project records are stored locally on your device. The app is built for local watermarking and local detection, so it does not need to upload your content to our servers in order to work.

If you choose to share an exported image, send a support message, or use a platform feature that requires another service, information will be handled by that destination according to its own policies. The main third parties involved by default are Apple and the App Store for distribution and in-app purchase handling.

6. Retention and Security

We keep local project data for as long as it is useful to you or until you delete it from the app or device. If you remove the app, local records may be removed as part of that process, but some items may remain in device backups or platform systems that we do not control.

No app can guarantee absolute security. We use reasonable local safeguards, but you should still protect your device, backups, and exported files.

7. Your Choices

You can decide which images to import, which projects to keep, and whether to delete local records or exported files. You can also manage device permissions through your operating system settings and manage purchase-related information through Apple’s own account tools where applicable.

8. Children's Privacy

Kegote is not directed to children, and it should not be used by children without a parent or guardian who can oversee the device and the content being processed.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when the app, platform requirements, or legal expectations change. If we do, the updated version will apply from the time it is posted or made available in the app.
